Deriving from the notion of sustainability, we have concluded that a space that receives direct light at least once a day, provides a more pleasant surrounding than those that do not, and, in turn gives rise to a more varied and productive mix of activities.
The algorithm we use for this software programme is similar to that of mass distribution, but contains some idiosyncrasies. It requires the physical inspection of the site, to establish where the sun can be utilised for light sources, at what particular time of day, and for how long. These findings obviously affect the decision of the height and shape of the building, to enable the maximisation of photosynthetic efficiency. |
